PACIFIC INTERIOR DANCE SOCIETY'S
- H E B R I D E A N  D A N C E R S -

The Hebridean Dancers was founded in September 1990 by Artistic Director Deborah Ward

The original youth company was comprised of eight championship level Highland Dancers
between the ages of ten and sixteen.  Members of the company were students of
the Deborah Ward School of Highland Dance which later became the Pacific Interior
School of Dance.  The Hebridean Dancers have experienced many changes since 1990
including growth in its' membership up to twenty dancers.

The company was formed to offer a wider range of  performance opportunities to
advanced students as well as offer the opportunity for the dancers to work
with original choreography developed exclusively for their dance ability.

Over the years members of the company have successfully represented
the Hebridean Dancers winning awards at local festivals, provincial
competitions and the Canadian Championship Series.

In 1994  'Song of the Hebrides' and 1996 'O'er The Sea To Skye'
full dance productions presented by the Hebridean Dancers
were performed at the Kelowna Community Theater.
In addition the group has presented an annual Spring Tea
as well as guest performers for Sunshine Theater,
 Kelvern Celtic Society, S.P.C.A.,
Canadian Jr. Curling Championships,
and local service clubs.
